Ella had tears in her eyes as she kissed him gently before she slowly started to the castle. Once she got there, several guards rushed her in and locked the gates, hurrying her to the throne room.

He watched her go and sat in a dip, surrounded by mounds of snow.

"Your Highness, she's back." A guard announced as the silent and depressed princess was brought in.

He laid in the little dip and closed his eyes, falling into a light sleep.

The king looked at her and frowned, then stood and waved his hand, signalling for everyone to leave. When they did, he glared at her. "What was that about? Why did you help him?!"

Ella was silent before looking at him, "He's my mate, father."

"Your what? You are not a wolf! YOU ARE A HUMAN!" He shouted, slamming his fist on the chair.

"I am not a wolf nor a human." Ella retorted, "Neither was mom or Drew or you! You refuse to think of yourself as a monster!"

"We are normal humans! That boy out there, HE IS A MONSTER! I want you to stay away from him. You will never leave this castle ever again." He said, standing up and walking past her.

Ella snarled, her teeth shifting into her wolf fangs, "Don't say that about him." She growled, ears flattening as she held back herself from shifting, "You know you're a werewolf."

"I am a king. I have people who follow me. I am a human." He said, walking out. There was a knock at the window, a small, almost inaudible knock.

Ella heard the knock and hurried to the window, looking out and then opening it.

Shakki rolled into the window and shook the snow off his head. "See? Easy."

Ella offered a little smile and hugged him tightly, the smile fading.

"What's wrong?" He asked, looking down at her.

"If you're caught... my father will kill you, Shakki." Ella whispered, "He's completely lost it. He refuses to remember he's a werewolf...."

"He's an imbecile." Shakki muttered, sitting in the throne.

Ella moved to sit by the throne, taking Shakki's hand and holding it by her face slightly, "I'm scared that he'll find you." She whispered just as a guard poked his head in, "Princess...." His eyes widened, "Your majesty!!!"
