  • Okay, here is your fancypost tutoring thread! Are you knew to fancyposts, and if you are, what would you like to learn?

  • alright, so here's how a basic fancypost looks like:

    this is a code for a basic fancypost:

    Code
    1. [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=COLOR HEX CODE HERE; bordercolor=COLOR HEX CODE HERE; borderwidth=NUMBERpx;]
    2. [fancyimage]URL HERE NO IMG CODES[/fancyimage]
    3. [/fancypost]

    replace everything in capital letters with either hex codes or a number. A hex code is a code for a color, you can always use the color itself (black,white,blue,etc...) but if you wanna use a more specific color, use a hex code. A good website for that is http://www.w3schools.com/tags/…om=F0F8FF&colortop=FFFFFF . you must remember to keep the px there, because thats how the fancypost knows how thick it has to be. For the fancyimage you must put the url code inbetween the brakets (these this [[[ ]]). Like it says, you cant use an img code. Try making your first fancypost!

  • yeah! That's good, although the background is blank, can you show me the code you used so i can possibly help you?

  • You forgot to put these number sign things #, otherwise, the colors wont work, try using #0000FF and #00F2FF

  • How do people make the really cool ones? Do you have to keep copying and pasting the fancy post to make it show up or can you just put it somewhere so it shows upon every post.

  • I can show you how to make the realy cool ones.

    You set it as a template. Go to modify my profile. Then click template list, then after you do that, copy and paste the fancypost code and save it. Whenever you post, go to template list and click on the desired one. Either do that or mark ot as a default template (much easier!)

  • you use this code:

    Code
    1. background:url(URL HERE NO IMG CODES);]

    it doesn't matter where you put this in the code, but i recommend putting it in the end. it would look like this:

    Code
    1. [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=HEX CODE HERE; borderwidth=NUMBERpx; background:url(URL HERE NO IMG CODES);]

    you wanna make sure you don't get rid of the parenthesis when you put the url in

    here's an example:
    [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=#000000; borderwidth=3px; background:url(http://25.media.tumblr.com/3df…ahdb5ptF1r7xmq0o1_400.gif);]
    [size=20px]
    EVERYBODY DO THE FLOP!
    [/size]

    I've provided a code for you so you could check off it

    also, it works the same for gifs

  • you put the background thing before you put in the fancyimage, like this

    [fancypost bgcolor=data:; bordercolor=#00CC00; borderwidth=2px; background:url(https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic…04p1clmiLyE6KVYglArJ_Fgnd);]

    Music is my life. Music is my escape.

    [/fancypost]

  • yep! look's great!
    ~~~~
    alright, for this next lesson, you're gonna learn how to make rounded borders
    the code is:
    Code
    1. [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=HEX CODE HERE; border-radius: NUMBERpx; bordercolor=HEX CODE HERE; borderwidth=NUMBERpx;]
    [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=; border-radius: 20px; bordercolor=#000000; borderwidth=3px; background:url(http://roma.theoffside.com/fil…arge-msg-126484492915.jpg);]
    Is the Glass Half Full or Half Empty? You choose.
    Out. Of. Character.
    TEXT TEXT
    In. Character.
    TEXT TEXT
    [/fancypost]
  • [fancypost bgcolor=data:; bordercolor=#00CC00; borderwidth=2px; background:url(https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic…2ImBBj4ctcYH0YoL3wbemVcsd);]
    [fancypost bgcolor=#003300; border-radius: 12px; bordercolor=#669999; borderwidth=12px;]
    thats how it should look like. sorry if i mixed you up! >.< the code should be:
    Code
    1. border-radius: NUMBERpx
    but instead, when i showed you the code, i showed where to put it in the code
    you should put the border-radius: before bordercolor
