  • Rogue.

Rogue's face lit up. "Food!" she said, happily deserting the pair but beckoning them with her hand behind her back. She headed toward the table and picked out her food. "These are mine, right?" she asked, pointing to a small mountain of cheeseburgers. "I think I ordered these."

  • Gracie.
    what if i fall
    along the way
    would you be there
    to ease the pain.

Gracie stood up, walking over to Miles. Nodding to Rogue, she said, "Yep." She took the drinks off of the tray, making it easier for Miles to carry the tray. She placed the drinks on the table, and said, "I'll go get some napkins and ketchup." She walked over to where the soda machines were, and grabbed a handful of napkins, and another handful of the little packets of ketchup.

Miles looked at the two teenagers warily, and did not turn his eyes away as he picked up a pack of french fries and began to eat them. "Take it," he said. It seemed the cashier girl was too preoccupied with staring at him to realize that they hadn't paid yet. Maybe they didn't have to run for it after all.

Gracie's eyes narrowed at the two teenagers, and she could tell that Miles was wary of them as well. Rogue, however, had beckoned them over, and was apperently at ease around them. Gracie's eyes were suspicious, her muscles tensed and ready to run. Her jaw was tight as she ate, and her eyes continiously flickered towards the two teens. "I don't like them." She whispered to Miles, making sure to keep her voice low so that only herself and Miles would hear.

Miles nodded, but otherwise did nothing. He was the epitome of relaxed, his spine arched up against his seat, his arm draped carelessly over the plastic; in one hand was a half-eaten burger and in the other was the liter bottle of Coke.

  • Rogue.

"I know them." Rogue's whisper carried only to Miles and Gracie. "I've seen them. The girl, anyway. Only glimpses of the boy. In one of the guards memories." She shuddered. "Her dad works at the School, but she barely tolerates him, even though he's never told her what he does for work. He left her, her mom and siblings and only sees them on weekends. I saw it when I stole the memories," she said. "I don't like it when families break apart, I've seen it too many times in stolen thoughts and memories. I think if we can help them, her relationship with her dad will get better and he'll come to his senses and we'll possibly have another few white-coats off our back. Or at least someone on our side."

    Jessie.
    You don't know me.
    You never bothered.

Jessie hissed softly. Everyone. Everyone. She wasn't human to anyone but Tony and Anthony and Derek and Josh and Jaz'mine... they were all like her and they were the only ones who knew her. Especially Tony, who, sensing her emotions flaring threateningly, put his arm around her and cradled her in the crook of his shoulder.

    ((Okay, bye!))

Rogue's sudden sympathy, besides being completely out of character, didn't sit well with Miles. "We don't have time to hang around and play Parent Trap," he said. The whole story reminded him too much of Glasses and his blond-haired barbie doll of a daughter. "What we need is to get some fuel and move out quickly." With that said, he crammed the two Big Whoppers in his mouth, swallowed, and grabbed a napkin. "So get ready to leave." He dabbed at the darkened corners of his lips, sparing these few precious seconds for a lapse back into common etiquette--the manners that Glasses had spent years drilling into
him--and then abruptly stopped, wadded up the napkin into a ball, and crushed it against the cheese-encrusted table.

  • "Who says I'm going anywhere?" asked Rogue, flicking her napkin at a little kid who ran by. She missed, but didn't care, leveling her combat boots up onto the table and crossing her ankles. She raised an eyebrow. "No one said we were together in this. No one said I had to take orders. I so did not say you had to help me with this idea of mine. So, scram, what ever, but I'm stayin' here."

  • Lana
    The world see's me
    I don't see it
    Others see me
    I don't see them.

Lana sighed, and shifted in her ploppy, red chair. She mumbled under her breath, "What's happening?" She swallowed.

(( You do remember I made this right? Don't flood me.))

  • Rogue.

Rogue raised her eyebrow again, waiting for a response.

    Jessie.

Jess was comforted by Tony's shoulder, but nothing could rid the feeling of hopelessness and helplessness and overall defeat.

Miles ignored her outburst and said very slowly and simply, "Do whatever you want. I'm not staying to be caught and tossed back in a cage." He got up from his seat and looked at them, fugitives, and in retrospect, they were a group, a team, bonded together through hardship and pain. He didn't want to lose that, to break that feeble tie so soon when it would only have gotten stronger with time, but he didn't want to lose what was most precious to him either, and that was freedom. "You guys do whatever you want, stay or come with me, or go solo."

  • Gracie.

Gracie's eyes had shifted from Miles, to rogue, and back again several times. Then, Miles said they could do whatever they wanted.. Go solo, go with him, stay here.. She had to say, going solo didn't sound very appealing. At all. And staying here.. She knew there was a good chance the white-coats would find her. Then what? Back to a life of being tested, and living in a cage.

She slowly rose to her feet as she finished off the last of her food. "I'm going with you." She said to Miles.

  • (OOC: Anyone still interested in continuing Ann/Jynx/Nepenthe's bit of the story?)

    Ann continued to walk.

  • ((I don't have any charries with them... but I think it would be interesting to have them meet up...))

The wind blew outside of the McDonalds, and the stonned teens continued to smoke.

  • (OOC: That's what I was thinking. But Jynx and Nepenthe haven't posted in a good while D: )

Ann swore, stumbling as her ankle twisted to the side. "Darn..." she muttered, kneeling down and massaging it for a moment before continuing.

  • (( Getting very big. Here new thread...

((Could you quote your post and post it in that thread, Barrel Racer? I replied with Miles there. And I was planning on them meeting up, too. I'm thinking the next stop for them will be the city, and Central Park, because we can say that the School was based in NY, and they can stumble across each other.))

    The wind blew.

The boy rose at length, believing himself to have the strength to at least stumble after Ann's retreating back; he picked his gradual way over the uneven ground, and hastened after with numb feet.

    Jynx-

The snow howled away as the storm intensified, drowning out all other sounds. Jynx was doubled over with the effort of walking against the wind, her ears laid flat without her intending them to be.
