IC~ I slammed the door to my house shut as I stormed out. My mom opened the door and yelled after me. "Alisha Niji come back here this instant!" I turned my head as I began to run."I hate you!" I screamed at her."I hate you!" My mothers face turned angry."Don't think about coming back!" She yelled."Like I would want too," I thought angrily. I ran past the sign that said 'You are now entering Burgess.' I made a vertical turn into the forest. My red, black tipped hair whipped around my head and branches snapped under my sneakers. Blood dripped into my eyes from a cut above my head where my mother had struck me with the handle of her knife. I came to a stop in the middle of a clearing.I bent over,panting. Once I had gotten my breath back I stood up and looked around. I recognized this place. I used to come here when I was a kid. I looked behind me,I felt like I was being watched. Maybe by Jack Frost? I shook my head."Alisha ,your 16,stop dreaming." My Dad had told me about Jack Frost,the winter spirit,who had visited my Dad as a kid. Weird,wasn't there a lake here? A loud crack filled my ears and I fell deep into cold water. Air bubbles escaped my lips as I screamed. I was freezing,unable to move,and my lungs began to feel tight from lack of air.My eyes drifted close,and I the last thing I saw was the silvery moon,seeming to glow brighter,as if beckoning me,then it went black.
I was being pulled...pulled towards the thick covering of ice that covered the lake. I held my hands in front of me,sure I was about to smash into it.Instead,the ice broke like wet paper. I landed on the lake and stumbled a little. The ice was cold against my bare feet. I looked up at the moon and felt a voice in my head. It was a deep male voice,and yet I could see no one else in the area."Your name..."He said to me."Your name is Alisha Rainbow." I looked up at the silvery white orb in the indigo black sky. There really was no difference. My last name had been rainbow in Japanese anyway. I looked down and realized that in my hand was a little wand with flowing stripes around it,each a color of the rainbow. I waved it around and a little rainbow fallowed it,creating a trail before disappearing. I looked at my hair,it was the same as the stripes in my wand,rainbow. I wore a white shirt with a blue sweater halfway unzipped. A rainbow was across the front of my white shirt and I had a pair of jeans with a rainbow belt. I smiled. This day was taking a turn for the better.
