Starling awoke as the sun set, he padded into the warrior den, shivering. The tom nodded to each cat inside, and curled up, falling asleep.
Nightlight shuddered as he entered the damp cave, memories filling the air. Flamescar..... He thought, eyes glazing over. He shook his head, padding further into the cave.

Songwhisper saw the tom as he walked inside. She nodded to him and curled up, making sure to keep her back to everyone else and her legs and tail tucked in tight. She fell asleep again.

Nightlight followed the stale trail of his friend before his death.

In Songwhispers dream she found herself walking with cats from Starclan. One cat stood out from the rest. "Moonsong?!" The white she-cat smiled.
"Hello, Songwhisper." Her smile faded. "There is something you must know about your mate."
"Did he do something wrong?" Songwhisper asked.
"Yes." Moonsong nodded. "Do you remember Flamescar?"
"Y-yes..." Songwhisper hated where this was going.
"Do you know how he died?" Moonsong asked.
"N-no..." Moonsong shook her head.
"Do you know how I died?" Moonsong asked.
"N-no." Songwhisper shook her head.
"By the claw of nightlight himself." Moonsong said. Songwhisper suddenly felt very small.
"No." She said." That can't be true!"
"Take a look for yourself." Moonsong led her to a pool of water. In the pool was nightlight walking in the cave where Songwhisper had rescued him from...sort of. "He still goes to the same cave of the bad cats."
"This can't be true..." Songwhisper said, but she watched none the less. -
Nightlight padded onward futher, picking up the scent of living cat. His fur stood on end. "What the..." He stood frozen, waiting.

The fur stood up on Songwhispers neck as he froze.

He ducked low to the ground, almost crawling. He slowly followed the scent but where the scent stopped, there was no cat. "... Uhhh?..."

Songwhisper tilted her head. "No one's there...." She said.
"I noticed." Moonsong said. -
Nightlight gave a hiss as a cat only he could see appeared before him. Flamescar.... However, not even another starclan cat could see his dead freind.

"What is he hissing at?" Songwhisper became uneasy. "There's nothing there!"
"I don't know." Moonsong said. -

Nightlights fur began to lay flat as he saw his friends calm expression.

Flamescar silenced him with a flick of his tail. "Don't be. You were only trying to keep yourself alive. Besides, I live on in your memory. That's all that counts. I will always be with you, now leave before anyone returns"
Nightlight nodded, and raced off after touching noses with Flamescar. He padded into camp and slipped into the warriors den before anyone could notice, and fell asleep. -
Songwhisper sighed with relief. Moonsong left her and she woke up in the warriors den. She looked over at nightlight and smiled before going back to sleep.

As the sun rose, Nightlight awoke as he remembered his enounter with Flamescar. He decided that today he would apologise to Songwhisker.
Starling had awoken not long after, and padded out of the warriors den, looking for something to do.
