Hello, my name is Avalon Avery and I'm about to tell you a story. A story I'm ashamed of... but first I guess I should tell you a little bit about myself, my appearance and personality perhaps.
My hair is as orange as fire and my eyes as blue as the ocean. My face has many freckles on it and dimples when I smile. But what I wear isn't anything like what a sweet innocent teenager should wear. Under a long black trench coat is a ripped up old prisoners uniform. and the worst part is it doesn't stop there. Sure, I have knifes hidden in my shoes and throwing stars hold up my hair but under the ripped orange prisoner's shirt is a black belt. On that belt is a whip and strapped tightly on, where there should be a sword is the kings scepter.
I am untrustworthy. I am an easy-tempered, no good prisoner but at least now I'm free. I guess I would be considered terrible, inconsiderate, and horrible by most every one back in my country now that I'm a KOS (kill on sight). I would be considered very disrespectful, cruel to anyone in the palace. The prisoner's though... they think of me as a hero. They think I'm heroic... but there wrong I'm anything but heroic...
I guess I should begin where it all started, In the castle of Trosashia (tro-stay-sh-a). I was once and honored member of the castle, or so I thought. I had grown up there for as long as I could remember. They had named me Summer, and my father was the leading general in the war. You see there was another Empire across the sea called Dragatory (Dra-jah-tory). We had been at war with them for years. The rumor was the kings wife and daughter had been killed, and his guards found his wife's body in our territory, but the daughter had never been found. He believed of course that we had done it because like me, the king had jumped to conclusions before thinking about the consequences. We've been at war ever since. My father Obyss, was rarely at the castle, he was to busy with war, so being 11 and all I was thinking I'd just go take a stroll over into the battle field skipping and whistling to pay him a little visit. Again I was 11. So when the guards footsteps disappeared I snuck out of bed. I changed from my blue silk pajama's into a pair of leather pants, boots, the closest thing they have to a tank top in medieval times and a leather jacket. I slowly opened the door and exited out into a long corridor. In the dim light it was hard to make out any of the murals that lined the walls, murals of the king and queen and the kings and queens before him. I stepped into a small room with a hall to the right and a staircase to the left. I ascended the stairs cautiously and entered a small corridor with pillars lining the walls. etched into the marble stone was the symbol of our kingdom. A blue hawk flying over the water at midnight. I exited the hall and entered a large room with a dome-like roof. I descended a flight of stairs and just a few steps ahead of me was the entrance to the draw bridge. I took the last few steps smiling, but as soon as I heard a group of guards coming my way that smile disappeared. I pulled the lever to lower the draw bridge panicking. The noises grew louder. the drawbridge lowered a little bit more. Noises. Draw bridge. Noises. Draw bridge. I eyed the hall behind me and just then I saw a man in chain mail armor appear. I wasn't sure what to do so I ran forward as fast as I could until I couldn't feel the ground beneath my feet. I looked down and I saw myself falling into the moat with the drawbridge still lowering above me. I panicked as I sank into the thick, black, murky water. Time seemed to stop as I struggled to find the surface. It was terrifying not knowing which way was up or down. I opened my mouth in hope for a fresh reviving breath of air, but all I got was my lungs filled with water. My chest became heavy and everything in my body tingled. The feelings of panic and pain, the thoughts like I'm going to die! and the thrashing about all stopped. Blackness flooded over me.
The next thing I remember is seeing a stern looking man come blurrily into focus. " Summer! what were you thinking.... You could have died! You would have died if it wasn't for the guards!" I paused waiting for my vision to clear. Slowly as my vision and hearing cleared I came to realization the this was my father, Obyss. he looked almost unrecognizable with a bushy overgrown beard, tangled hair, and battle armor." F-Father? what are you doing here?"" Well, I came for the war meeting." He said as if it was obvious. "War meeting?" I asked." don't try to change the subject you are in big trouble!"" but-"" No buts, now its almost midnight get some rest, You there! don't let her leave her room!" Obyss pointed to a guard and they escorted me, back through the corridors, into my room. The guard locked the door behind me without a word. I flopped down on my bed, still barely grasping the fact that I was still alive. I changed my into q silk night gown and lay back down, holding my blanket with a death grip. I breathed slowly trying to calm myself and eventually I feel into a deep sleep. It seemed like just seconds before a knocking on my door awoke me. I slowly sat up, looking out my window to see a lovely, cloudless blue sky. I staggered over to the door, slowly opening it to see a guard." You will remain here until further notice, for the war meeting is in process." The first thought that popped into my mind was How dare you march in here and order me around... but then my second thought was He's twice my size better not say that...
