It's trying to get water out of it. That's what my cats do all the time.
Yeah. My cat actually turned the faucet on when she was sitting in the sink- she got really wet and meowed the whole house down.

Breaking the Harmony; she saved the ponies
And banished her, as a wise ruler must do

And live on with no burden upon your soul
