  • "You have another kit? Ah haven't seen any third kit. Did the poor thing pass away?" Straw asked her, seeing the barn in distance. By this point, the meadows turned into planted fields, but the corn was barely visible, just being planted a few weeks ago. The tom felt much easier knowing that they have entered the safe territory. Usually he wasn't that concerned about walking around in the dark, but this time he had other cats to care about. Sundenly, another question came into his mind.
"Why isn't your mate helping you?"

ic:Streamkit dangled from straws mouth silently sleeping.

  • She looked up seeing the darking sky."My kit was a tom... and I presume... he... passed.Him and the father... we were attacked by foxes on the night of delivery... they killed my mate and took my kit." she looked up again this time tears filled her eyes.

  • "Just as sappy as Violet..." Straw though, but of course didn't say that. Also, it's was getting more difficult talking while holding Streamkit in his mouth for a while.
"Now, now..." he murmured, "It's gonna be fine."
By finishing the sentence, the barn was in front their nose. A cream tabby has been watched them since they were in sight, simply sitting on the roof. A thing her father taught her.

  • "Ugh, well, that cat up there is Banjo, my lovely... Niece?" Straw meowed, not knowing what to say. His "lovely niece" watched him ankwardly, making the tom fear about her reaction.
"Ah can't hear ya from up there, speak louder!" she replied from up there.
Of course these words made the tom relax a bit, before leading the cats into the barn. He carried Streamkit over into a corner, gently dropping the kit into the hay. He turned around, seeing Violet being woken up by the noise. The two kits hiding by the side of her belly were harder to wake up though. The she-cat was already used to see new faces. This barn was famous for sheltering many cats and seeing another one was totally normal and fine to her. In fact, she was even proud to see her mate helping out and being kind.
"Welcome to our barn." she warmly greeted Bloodstone and her kits just as Banjo entered and slowly pushed the wooded door shut.

ic:streaming whined as she was jolted awake "mommy there's lots of big cats.are they going to hurt us?"She asked her blue eyes gazing around the barn.

    --------------------------------------------------------

  • [color=teal][size=12]She looked around the barn sensing many mice and other prey. She gently licked Streamkit and the put down Russetkit who was still and tired her little eyes closed as her jaw held open."No, these cats will help us." Bloodstone meowed quitly as she licked her head and stettled down in the hay so they could nurse.

  • "Go get the blanket. They will need it." the plum she-cat suggested while taking a better look at the new comer. Straw took it as if it was an order, picking up the check patterned scarlet blanket. Sometimes it can really cool down inside the pretty old barn and every cat got one blanket while they were staying as a welcome gift. Violet and her tom kits laid in hay that was shattered around the corner. Banjo prefered sleeping on the hay blocks above the rest.

  • [size=12][font=times new roman][color=teal]Bloodstone moved into a pile of hay on the edge of the barn she moved the hay so that it was higher on the side that was closest to the door. She curled up and gently nuged the 2 kits to her stomach so they could nurse.

  • Straw carefully dropped the blanked above them
"Stay warm." he meowed kindly while fixing the blanked on the corners a little, so it would be as perfect as possible.

  • She smilled, "Thank you." she whispered and licked his cheek softly carefully so that the she-cats would not see him.

  • Straw's heart started beating faster once again, excited about the fact that the she-cat appreciated his efforts. He couln't help himself but return the lick before returning to his real family.

  • Violet sent a gentle look at her mate, but much to her suprise, didn't get anything in return. Instand of usually laying next to her, he laid on one hayball above her, just like Banjo does. Sighing, Violet put her head on her paws and fell asleep. Straw felt a little insecure, wondering what they are going to say. Heck, it won't last long until someone finds out! Banjo is still the biggest threat, as he noticed that she already watched his ankwardly.

Bloodstone was worried that she had done the wrong thing. She looked down at the kits and thought again... Mabey I should just leave... it would save his skin... but not mine. She looked down and frowned. She placed her head on her paws and stared at the darkness...These people were nice but would they like it that she felt some sort of attachment to Straw?

  • The morning came earlier every single day, pointing out summers soon-to-be arrival. Violet's kits were the first ones to wake up, hyperly poking their mother. Actually, after taking a lookaround, the she-cat saw that they weren't first. Eighter that or Straw was sleepwalking. The tom sat outside the barn, looking into the sky. Banjo enjoyed the streak of light falling on and warming her up. The barn was pretty old, of course the roof couln't stay new forever. Sometimes a good thing, but mostly bad.

  • Bloodstone soon woke her eyes still tired she had not gone to sleep till the moon had almost completely left the sky.She yawned and looked at the kits.

  • Sighing, Straw got up, taking a drink from the puddle. The presence of Bloodstone made it much harder for him to face his own family. It felt like he was betraying them, all of them, not just Violet. The twin toms bounced into Bloodstone, looking at her belly looking for her kits.
"We heard there are some kits!" one of them meowed. Both were eager to meet her daughters, bouncing around their nest.
"Now, now... Isn't that a little impolite, boys?" Straw asked, finally walking inside.
