    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As the first rays of bright dawnlight made their way through the clouds, a tom was sitting, staring down upon his empire. His face of course was hidden in shadow, and he had made it an official rule that no one would look upon his cursed face. He closed his eyes and took in a deep breath of fresh air, no one knew what he looked like, or his age. He was a mystery, and he preferred to keep it that way. No matter, he is the Emperor of the Meiji Empire, and he would protect it with his life. He opened his eyes as he thought, 'I wonder where Yuki is?' Since he had appointed her as Empress, he didn't hold any emotions for the she-cat, at least not yet. Besides, he thought of her as an assistant to help him keep the empire in check. As the wind ruffled his fur, he looked up upon the dawn skies, his face briefly, eagerly enjoying the faintest rays of sunlight he would drink in before he had to return to darkness.

The post was edited 1 time, last by fancy ().

  • [sub]Auxin sat poised next to her hut, her sunflower yellow eyes half-lidded. The ruddy Abyssinian she-cat watched the camp with an uninterested, clouded gaze, watching the mundane activities of her comrades as they went about their normal lives. No movement made went unnoticed, and everything seemed to be running smoothly. Good.

  • Yuki swept down from where she had been sitting near Oni's den. She'd been enjoying a morning bath and had been delighted when he'd shown up right when she had finished. It didn't really matter though. As usual, her silver fur with its swirling grey patterns was silky and smooth. Yuki enjoyed having the advantage of beauty and brains. It had only seemed just when Oni had chosen her to be empress.
"All seems in order. There have been no reports of intruders, and our hunting is well," she mewed in a voice that matched her beauty. The she-cat dipped her head to the emperor before laying down next to him so that their fur just barely brushed.
"Don't take it personally, I just want us to have a good image in front of our subjects," she said quietly, spotting Auxin outside her hut. She flashed a convincing fake smile and waved her tail at the adviser, quickly turning her attention back to the tom next to her.

  • [sub]Auxin watched the two false lovers as they lay together in the shade. The adviser returned her empresses's smile, although tersely. Auxin turned looked away sharply, tucking her tapered tail neatly around her paws. Something's going on between the two. Ah, not my problem. I'm only in charge of the political aspects and situations... I think.

  • Oni glanced over to Yuki, there was no amusement tethered within his eyes. Of course; his face and body was shadowed in darkness as he mumured in his silken velvet voice, "Of course." His gaze slid away from her upon the empire, his fur ruffled in the breeze, he closed his eyes letting his mind wander for a few seconds. He commonly did this everyday before he started his duties for the day.
'He was in the ThunderClan forest again; the soft hiss of the dark green leaves, signalling newleaf was arriving.
    "Bloodshatter!"
His head turned towards the beautiful she-cat approaching him, her pawsteps light upon the ground, her eyes bright violet, soft and so very peaceful. "Nightlily, I thought you were at camp?" She purred in amusement as she flickered her tail over his shoulder, her laughter brighting happiness to his soul. "The queens barely even let me get past them." He growled playfully in her ear, "And they should've, you know I can just chase you back to camp." Nightlily's eyes gleamed with laughter for a few moments as she gazed upon his face with so much affection, she leaned her head upon his chest, "I love you Bloodshatter..."

Oni's eyes opened quickly, he frowned at his mind wandering in that direction. He strikly cut himself off from that part himself long ago. He closed his eyes as he let himself relish the faint rays of those happy memories, the day, the last day Nightlily was alive. Oni stood to his paws, unable to just stay in one spot without feeling the wrenching pain of his past, "Come, we have work to do." He padded down the temple steps, not waiting to see if Yuki was following or not.

  • Yuki smiled. Out of the corner of her eye she'd caught a glint from his shadowed face. She guessed he had been smiling. It was so hard to tell his emotions with his face hidden, so she got used to searching his voice and body language for him emotion.
The she-cat stretched before she trotted after the emperor, falling in step beside him. Ever since being appointed empress, Oni would get up and walk off saying they had 'work to do.' It had finally become a habit for her to follow him without question. She kept her opinions to herself unless they were important. Yuki simply enjoyed having a place that she belonged, was important. It made her content.

  • [sub]Auxin carefully approached the two higher-ranked cats, intent on keeping her eyes locked on the ground. Mustn't look in Oni's direction, hm? She bowed her head, ears still erect and perked. "Greetings." She murmured, eyes inspecting the ground with meticulous boredom.

  • Oni paused when Auxin approached, the tom's voice as ever the silken voice, "Greetings to you as well Auxin." Oni's eyes narrowed faintly, he had gottened used to cats not looking directly at him moons ago... but it never ceased to bother him. 'I should be used to it by now, it is all for their safety... Oni's tail twitched as he quickly regained his reserved and still composure.

  • [sub]Auxin flicked her tail, gaze still not meeting his. "I'd like to inform you that everything seems to be going well," She rasped, realizing she'd not thought out the conversation, "And I'd also like to inform you that I am prepared to offer my services." The dark she-cat trailed off awkwardly. She raised her head and quickly swiveled her neck so that she was not facing Oni, but his empress.

  • "That sounds good Auxin. I expect he's happy to hear confirmation on what I said earlier. You wouldn't mind is she joined us, would you...?" she said, looking at Auxin when she couldn't find a proper word to use to address Oni in public.

  • OOC My internet is totally screwed up, so I'm trying to work with it. Where do u think fancy is? Oh well, should be getting on soon

  • OOC I think mine finally got over being shorted out by lightning on Saturday. Now YouTube loves me again, so that's all I really need.

  • OOC: Sorry I was doing homework and my computer wouldn't work for awhile
IC: Oni's dark gaze slid between Yuki and Auxin, though he didn't allow anyone to look upon his face, the intensity of his gaze still felt like pressure. Finally he turned his head away, tail twitching in indifference, "Come as you may Auxin." His voice was of course monotone and as cold as ever, there was no hint of any emotion at all in his posture or movements. He continued his way down to the pale sunlight. Though Oni almost did flinch back, he supressed it and continued forward. The sunlight played across his fur, his fur was smooth and a mix of colors of brown and tan which was hard to desipher what his pelt color would actually be. But, there was one mark upon his body that was a price from a victory. A long scar, upon the base of his neck to his left hip, a trophey of a scar that anyone could have. The only way cats could look at him without looking directly at his face was either below his chin or from behind. His long tail swayed behind him as his muscles rippled smoothly underneath his pelt. But his facial expression was grim; not that anyone would know of course.

  • Yuki's face filled with concern and pity for a moment, but it was gone so fast one would even question if it was there. The empress walked just behind Oni, her movements smooth and graceful. Though many thought she had a long tail like Oni, the tip was really just fur. However the coy tip was useful in fights, as was her beauty. Yuki had a pelt of silver that looked like moonlight being reflected off of fresh snow. Upon it was layer upon layer of swirls, the most evident were a grey like that of stormclouds and ran from the back of her neck down her side so the stretched across her entire flank. All the other swirls were some color in between her main swirls and her pelt, giving the effect of the fur being at different lengths when one could see it wasn't. It was always with reason when toms gawked at her.
She bore no marks, not a scratch, for all of her scars were inside. She believed they were worse than any physical wound would ever be. Putting on a dutiful look, she sped up to again fall in step beside Oni.

  • Oni kept his gaze ahead; though the tom seemed as constant and unaffected by anything, a strong, constant presence, he felt the pain and agony of his past weighing down upon him every second of the day. The guilty pleasure of when he participated in battles, the crushing, breaking feeling of his soul shattering when his beloved Nightlily perished along with their unborn kit, along with any hope of him having a family or a normal life. His gaze lowered to the ground as he continued forward. The errors of his past could never be undone, nor could he fix the error of his family long ago.

  • Yuki looked sideways at Oni, wanting him to show some feeling. He was always so hard and confident. That only made her more sure that something was bothering him. She didn't know for sure and didn't want to talk to him about it until they were alone. Yuki understood pain.
She'd been left to die by her parents on a strange loner's word, and then her adopted mother had been brutally murdered. She thought revenge on those that harmed her adopted mother would bring justice, but all she felt now was guilt. Those cats had killed her for a reason, she'd had the foaming-mouth disease and would have soon attacked young Yuki, but she had been Yuki's whole life. She sided inwardly, putting on another smile and seemingly gifting it to each of their subjects that passed.
