• Aero grunted and dipped his shaggy cream head once. "Pay attention then." He muttered, choosing a flattish stone to sit on at the water's edge. He stayed perfectly still, even when a passing fly landed on one rounded ear. Then with a huge surge he lunged down and snatched a fish form the river, biting firmly at the flopping body and driving the life from it as he drew back. "Skinny at this time of year. No salmon around." He growled.

  • Nakota was glad that his past was not questioned and turned to watch as Aero moved closer to the waters edge. It was a curious thing, fishing and he was eager to learn. Afraid to interrupt the larger bears concentration he stayed where he was, glancing up at Wishingwell to see how she was taking it.

The grizzly had expected it to be over quickly but when the white bear continued to sit there he frowned, opening his mouth to say something when Aero shot forward. Startled he jumped, snapping his jaws shut. Watching, wide eyed he blinked. "You caught it!?"

  • Aero grunted around his mouthful. "Looks like." He waiting until the body was completely still, then dropped it upon the bank. "Show you a trick I like." He continued, pulling off some of the poorer meat around the tail. He used his claws to shred the pieces smaller than the youngest of cubs would have taken meat, then scattered them in the water. He settled down in a crouch, as if he'd forgotten about the water. Smaller fish began to swim in to nibble at the pieces Aero had distributed, but he still didn't move. Only when a larger fish swam up to investigate did Aero strike, but this time he was a fraction too slow, mis-calculating the actual position of the fish. They never were where they appeared to be, Aero knew, but he would have given the cub the idea. "See what I mean?"

  • With more patience he watched as Aero took the smaller pieces, scattering them into the water below. At first Nakota didn't understand but as the small fish began to surface, nippling on the pieces he brightened. What a trick that was!

"That's great! I want to learn." He waddled forward, plopping down beside the older, dark gaze trained on the rippling surface.

  • Wishingwell watched Aero teach with a smile. She was glad his hip was slowly healing after so many moons of him suffering. The brown and black she-bear thought how he fished was god, but she had a trick of her own. "My trick's to go out onto a rock in the middle of the water and fish from that point as the fish can't see you." Wishingwell said jumping out into the water and swimming over to a large platform rock in the middle of the river.

  • "Hey!" Growled Aero, who had been about to show the cub a method to slap at a fish with a forepaw and hook it from the water. "Way to scare off all the fish." He grumbled, glaring at the trail of ripples Wishingwell had left behind. It was typical of the white black bear to complain at any opportunity, though - he wasn't actually as mad as he sounded.

  • He watched Aero's grumpy reaction and although he was excited to see Wishingwells own method of catching fish he mimicked the white bears growl, "show me this fishing technique woman, and make it quick." He spoke in all seriousness but with a growl in his voice he sounded rather squeaky and didn't come off as demanding and mean as he had intended.

Unaware of his complete fail he scooted closer to the edge to watch her, eyes wide.

  • Despite the fact it was fairly close to something he himself might of said, the cub's attitude earned a whup from one of Aero's paws aimed at his ear. It wasn't a harsh blow, certainly nothing that would harm him, just a mere reprimand. "Watch your mouth cub." Warned the cream-furred male.

  • "Zip it, cub," Wishingwell spat back. She just rolled her eyes at Aero. Always worried about his fish. The black and brown colored bear laid down on the rock with her body pressed tightly to it just barely peering over the edge. Wishingwell watched as the current swept things past her. At the perfect moment she set her paw down into the water and flicked it upwards a fish on her paw. She slammed it onto teh rock knocking the fish dead. "Peace of cake."

  • "Hey!" He hunched his shoulders, one fuzzy paw lifting to rub his head. He glared up at the older bear, although a flush had settled under his rough fur. He turned his hard stare to Wishingwell next but remained silent. They obviously hadn't liked what he said.

His irritation was easily vanished however when the female began her fishing teqniue. Eyes widening once again he leaned forward. "Whoa! I wanna try now!" Figuring it would be easier for him to try Aero's first he leaned over the water, eyes intent as he waited for the slippery creatures to swim by.

  • For all his gruffness, the white bear bore no grudges. "Check your angle" He pointed out calmly to the cub. He pointed a claw at the shadow of his face, lurking over the water. "No fish is going to swim underneath that. May as well open your jaws, put them in the water and wait for dinner to swim into them." He demonstrated the correct way to crouch on the bank so there was a line of vision without being seen by anything in the water.

  • While usually he would fins such criticism offended he was to caught up in his enthusiasm to care. Watching Aero, Nakota mimicked him as best he could, turning his eyes to the water now in hopes of a fish. He wouldn't leave this spot until he caught one, no matter how long it took him. Muscle coil, ready to strike, he waited. But...

    "How long does this take?"

  • "You must have patience young one," Wishingwell said laying down out on her rock. She had a few nibbles of fish before watching Aero try and teach Nakota. It was quite the funny site, a cream colored black bear trying to teach a grizzly cub how to catch fish.
