He licked the drops away and the cut started healing. He smiled slightly and lifted her to her bed. "Sleep well Mizore."

She rested her head on the pillow and gazed up at him. "I'm probably going to sound like a child saying this, but will you stay with me until I fall asleep?" she said. She just didn't want to be alone. Her wintery gray eyes were drooping, and tired, but she never once looked away from Shadow.
-
He nodded. "Of course!" he laid next to her.
-
She smiled faintly and pressed herself close to him. It was as if she was suddenly afraid that something would come and snatch him away from her. She curled her slim fingers into his T-shirt, and just as everything felt okay, she lost it. Soft whimpers caused her slender, fragile body to tremor, and wetness clung to her long lashes in beads that looked like crystals. "I'm sorry," she cried, "I didn't know that Taeyang and his vampires would be waiting on us. I should have, though. I'm so stupid! I knew sooner or later he'd come looking. But I hoped he wouldn't find you anytime soon. I guess with all my hoping, he kind of caught me off guard. It's my fault you nearly died tonight, Shadow. I'm so sorry."
(I'm going to the theater with some of my friends to see The Wolverine. I'll probably be on late tonight to reply. Bye! :))
-
(Aww! Have fun!)
He kissed her. "No! It's not your fault! It's mine. You told me that people here would try to kill me and I didn't listen. Don't blame this on yourself.'
-
She stared at him, uncertainty sparking in her tear-filled, gray eyes. Then she shook her head. "But Shadow, Taeyang will come after you again. He won't stop until he knows for sure that you're dead! I don't know if I can stop him next time. He'll have more vampires with him, and.." she paused, blinking as tears rolled down her fine-boned face. And then, she continued, "I'm scared. I don't want to lose you. I can't. You're all I have!" After she was finished speaking, she frowned and lowered her gaze.
Some hidden, dark part of her mind hissed at her, Tell him! He's going to get killed anyway. He might as well know. You can't protect him. You're almost as weak as he is! You're pathetic. Where on earth was this coming from? She closed her eyes tightly. She knew he had to know. But it might cause him to leave her to protect himself, which she could understand, but that scared her even more. When she opened her eyes, she lifted her gaze to meet his, and opened her mouth to say what she knew she had to tell him, but no words came out. How could she explain? When she couldn't find the words, she lowered her head to where she didn't have to look into his eyes, as tears continued to stream down her face.
-
"Mizore? What's wrong? If we work together then we can beat them all. Show them that we can't be messed with." He wiped away her tears as he talked. He lifted her head and kissed her. "We can do this Mizore."
-
Lifting her gaze to meet his again, she pressed her soft lips to his and kissed him back. But she pulled away to speak only seconds after. "It's just..." she took a deep breath as she struggled to find the words. "There's a reason that Taeyang is after you. He was one of Charlie's best friends, and after he died, Taeyang blamed me because I was the one who turned Charlie into a vampire so I could be with him. It was against Charlie's will, of course. That's when Taeyang went insane. He nearly killed me one day. I was already on the ground, badly wounded, but he didn't finish the job. Which I still don't know why. And ever since, he's been hunting newbloods as if he thinks it'll help. He's after you for two reasons. One; because your a newblood, obviously, and two; because Taeyang hates me, and he doesn't want me to be happy, so his job is to kill you. I'm sorry. Meeting me was probably the worst thing for you."
-
"No! Meeting you was the best thing that ever happened to me! I'll kill Taeyang if that's what it takes. No one will hurt you. I don't care about your past. I wanna be a part of your future, so I will do anything I can to keep you safe."
-
He'd kill to keep her safe? Her gray eyes widened slightly at his words, then she smiled. She reached up and gently touched his cheek. What she said was "Just promise me that you'll protect yourself, too. Okay?" Then in a hushed voice, she added, "And you're already a part of my future, Shadow."
-
He kissed her and smiled.
-
She smiled and slid her fingers gently through his hair as she kissed him back. There was still a little bit of pain in her neck, but not much. The bite marks had already healed, but the pain always stayed for a little bit. Her head was a different story. It hurt less than before, but there was a throbbing, stabbing pain that made her dizzy. At least she was laying down. If she'd been standing, she would have probably collapsed.
-
He pulled bakc. "Get some sleep Mizore."
-
She nodded and rested her head on the pillow. "Goodnight, Shadow," she said softly as she yawned and closed her eyes. After a few short moments, her hand fell away from his cheek as she drifted to sleep.
-
He fell asleep soon after.
-
-Timeskip-
Morning came around 7:30, and Mizore was still asleep, even when pale orange sunlight filled her bedroom. Her face was buried in Shadow's chest, and her hands were clutching at his T-shirt, her fingers curled around the fabric. Her chest and belly were lifting, then falling with the even, gentle breaths that escaped her lips.
-
He was already awake, having barely slept that night. He had woken up around 3:00ish and had kept watch since.
-
She hadn't moved hardly at all through the entire night, and had stayed close to Shadow through the hours. When she did finally start to stir, she let out a small groan and she opened her eyes after a few moments longer. "Shadow..?" she whispered, flinching slightly as if the pale orange sunlight in the room hurt her eyes. Normally it didn't bother her, but she found that her head still hurt, but far less than it had before she had fallen asleep so many hours ago. When she looked up to meet his gaze, the corners of her lips drew back in a very weak smile. "You didn't leave..." She said in a soft tone. She had expected him to return to his own bedroom after she'd fallen asleep, but she was glad he didn't.
-
He smiled. "I would never leave you wounded. And I also feel asleep right after you did."
-
That weak smile grew slightly as she lifted her head and rested it on the pillow next to him. "Shadow.. There's something I want to tell you," she started, her gray eyes still locked on his. "Do you like drinking from blood-bags? I mean, even if you do, there's another way that you can drink blood without taking it from humans or animals. Sometimes the blood from blood-bags isn't enough, and..." She let her voice drift off as she dropped her gaze and started to brush a few stray strands of her silver hair away from her neck. "I'm offering my blood to you. You can drink whenever you need it. It's not the same as human blood, but it's close. And it'll keep you strong. I don't mind, Shadow." The last part was spoken in a slightly hushed voice.
