Swanpaws tail dropped to the ground, just like a lifeless rabbit being hauled into camp after its life ended tragically. She had no intention on being excited nor afraid to talk with castaway. Castaway had been in Swanpaws life since she were a medicine helper. What was she afraid of? Not doing her job right? Either way, Swanpaw was shaking badly but didnt show it.

"Swanpaw?" Came the call of Castaway as the ebony medicine cat walked from the back area of the medicine cat den."I would like to have a few words with you." his tone was not dark or condescending. In fact, he wasn't even being sardonic! What a surprise. He was ready to promote the female to a full medicine cat now, and was not entirely sure she was ready for it; however, she was no longer an apprentice. There had to be a time where he would promote her, and it was that day. He picked her because he was confident in her abilities, but it wasn't like she knew everything. He didn't know everything himself. Hell, Castaway was still learning. Medicine and remedies was complicated, more so than one would expect of what seemed to be an easy field.

On the outside Swanpaw had a calm looking expression but on the inside she was as jittery as a mouse of it were running for dear life. Swanpaw graciously nodded, all of her eyes and ears were paying full attention to Castaway now. Her eyes flickered rather fast, and her heartbeat took rapid beats. She didnt want the medicine cat to see she was nervous as scared. Swanpaw wanted to seem nothing like a coward but the way she was acting right not didnt help it. Finally, a soft voice of hers spoke, "yes" which came out more as a statement eater than a question.

The midnight hued medicine cat offered her a comforting smile that replaced his typical grimace of frustration. "Swanpaw, I have watched you grow over the moons since I picked you as my apprentice, and it is about time you are promoted alongside myself, Jabberjaw, and Hawkcry. You still have a good amoint to learn, though, but that will come with time and experience and nothing less. I can't teach you everything, and there are some things you are going to have to learn by failure. The road ahead isn't going to be forgiving, but I am here to help you if you need it. And now to give you your full name, Swanpaw, you shall now be referred to as Swancall." Castaway ararded her the position and the name with a slight bow of his dark head and a slight nod of approval. He wouldn't pick a new apprentice for a long while, but he felt a bit empty without his duties as a teacher.
Of course, the flame mink would not suddenly know everything, he didn't when he had first been promoted. There was this everlasting curiosity and wonder that arose from holding a prestigous position that involved a lot of experience. There were times where he had failed, and been hopelessly lost in some sort of perpetual limbo without guidance. He would be around to help Swancall, not interested in her mistreating anybody. Although, he was sure she would do well. "I'm proud of you," he said to her with the slightest trace of a smile upon his maw. It may have been ephemeral on his face, but it continued to spark in his eyes. So, regardless of the subtlety, Castaway was happy for his former medicine cat apprentice.

Swancall's eyes lit up at the sound of becoming a full Medicine Cat. She tried to speak but it seemed as if Castaway took away her ability to speak. she swallowed hard, thinking of how to say what she wanted to say. "W-wow! Thank you... So much Castaway!" Her blue eyes gleaming with happiness. Swancall was chasing her dreams, she couldn't believe it. Orange eyelids closed down on blue crystal balls almost like a door shutting out light. She just couldn't believe it. Although she knew she had more to learn, she wanted to do her job the best she could. Her minds raced through the thoughts of always being with clanmates and helping them which Swancall loved to do. One day she would be able to get an apprentice and one day she will be able to watch them from Starclan, but not now. The time would come where she will be visiting all of her Shadowclan ancestors and hear their greetings and telling them how well she did. All the excitement got her shaking and she didn't even realize she had been standing there with her eyes closed and her shaking. Opening her eyes, Swancall brought herself up to Castaway as she went to brush his neck with her head as a friendly gesture of saying Thank you for everything.

Over the moons, he had grown a bit protective over his apprentice whether she or he were aware of it. What else was to be expected? If you spend so much time teaching somebody to be their very best to heal the Clan, wasn't it normal for them to grow attached. Sure, it was not the same bond he had with Jabberjaw whom he viewed as a daughter, but it was close enough. She was a fellow medicine cat, anyhow, he couldn't let any harm come to her for the sake fo the Clan.

"The only stupid thing I could do is step down from medicine cat and become a warrior!" Swancall laughed in a joking manner, hoping castaway had a sense of humor.
