    Mute and blind! How awful! Canvas thought as she looked at Star with a face that said, 'I'm sorry for you.'

    Star looked at Canvas. "don't feel too bad. her and i were inseparable, but know she is in Heaven."

    "...With the angels and as much prey as you could imagine.", Canvas finished mentally It had been a saying Canvas' mother had said about her father before the kit came to the tribe. She smiled fondly and nodded to Star, showing she agreed.


    "i was the only to live in my mother's litter. her first and last." Star said. he looked at Moon's den.

    Star tilted his head. "same thing with you?"

    Star smiled.

    Canvas looked around, and saw others hunting and guarding. She wondered which she would end up being. She was small, so guarding didn't seem like a great idea, but she had large paws that often got stuck in all the wrong spots. Maybe she'd grow out of them, and the choice would become clearer. It wasn't her decision anyways, so she didn't need to worry about it.

    "would you like to see the territory?" Star asked Canvas.

    Canvas looked back at Star with wide blue eyes, nodding her head with an enthusiastic smile.

    "follow me." Star said. he got up and started towards the camp entrance.

    Star smiled.

    She looked around at all the cats, then back at Star, as if asking a question per second without saying a word.

    Star looked around. "do you want to know who everyone is Canvas?"

    Star smiled. "Sun." he nodded toward an orange tabby she-cat. "is a hunter. Heron." he looked over at the blue grey tom. "is also a hunter." Star looked at where Moon had disappeared. "Moon is the leader and Stream." Staar looked around for the grey and brown tom. "is her successor. there are more cats, they're just out on patrol."

    Flower walked into the camp, placing two mice on the fk pile. The silver she-cat then went and sat beside her brother. Snow looked curiously at his sister 'you seem lost' the black tom murmured, noting Flowers blank stare.
