misery dropped into the hunter's crouch as he saw a mouse scurrying over the forest floor. with one quick snap, the mouse was dead, hanging from misery's mouth by it's tail. it was a little, wimpy creature, barely enough to feed an future. the tom realized he couldn't possibly bring prey like this back to camp, especially when he was the son of crave, grandson of shinno.
after a while of waiting for worthy prey to come by, misery was ready to had back to camp in shame. many cats were already surprised that he wasn't a true skull, being crave's son and all. just as he was about to leave, a larger, plumper piece of prey caught his eye. a wild goose. enough to feed at least a queen with a large litter. "wild ducks are hard to come by, and even harder to catch." misery paused for a second, remembering the wise respect's words. he knew he had no chance of catching it after the goose took flight, so he decided to carefully stalk the bird.
when misery was a fox-length away, the goose was suddenly aware of the cat's presence. it tried to fly away, but misery swipped a outstretched paw at it, tearing its wing. still, the bird took off, half-flying, half-stumbling through the woods. misery chased after it, knowing that if he caught it, his catch will be most certainly praised. in the skulls, goose meat was rare and prized by almost all cats.
misery was so busy following the wild bird, he tripped over a log and fell face-flat on a rock. immediately, the handsome tom collasped and fell into a daze.
