Snowkit couldn't wait. Today was the day that she would become an apprentice. She wondered who her mentor would be. Oh well, whoever it was at least she would be able to leave the camp on her own and learn how to hunt and fight. This was going to be the best day ever!

Midnightleaf sat watching Snowkit. The young warrior purred. She had been informed that she would be the mentor of the young kit, and felt as excited as Snowkit looked!

Snowpaw was so happy that Midnightleaf was her mentor. "So, what will we do first?" She asked.

Midnightleaf purred. "Lets go explore the territory." She suggested. "Maybe we can do some hunting practice on the way back."

"That sounds totally awesome!" Snowpaw was so ready to get out of the camp! "Let's go!!" Snowpaw cried racing out of the camp. "Which way?"

Midnightleaf chased after Snowpaw, pleased her apprentice was so eager. "This way." She meowed, nudging Snowpaw in the other direction. "Follow me!" Midnightleaf ran down the old path towards the river, checking to see that Snowpaw was keeping up.

Wow! The river is huge! "What's across the river? And what's that nasty smell?" Snowpaw asked.

Midnightleaf sniffed the air and meowed, "That's RiverClan. They live over there and they eat fish. They're not the friendliest clan, but their better then ShadowClan." Midnightleaf curled her lip. She still remembers the battle with them.

"What do fish taste like?" Snowpaw asked."where's Shadowclan? Can we go there next?" Snowpaw asked as she raced along the river bank."Is Shadowclan your least favorite clan?"

Midnightleaf did answer, only ran faster until she was leading Snowpaw alone the border. "Stop." Se meowed, pausing near a large tree.

"Why are we stopping?" Snowpaw asked." Is something wrong?"

"Listen." Midnightleaf instructed. From here, they could just hear a distant roar.

"What's that?" Snowpaw asked." Is it a badger?"

Midnightleaf shook her head. "Follow me, but carful." They stepped thought the bushes and in front of them was the ThunderPath.

All of a sudden a monster rushed past." What was that?" Snow paw asked, "And what's that black stuff?"

Midnightleaf waited until the monster pasted before meowing, "This is the Thunderpath, the thing that just passed was a monster. Don't go out there, you might get hurt."

"Don't the monsters ever leave the Thunderpath?" Snowpaw asked.

"I have never seen it." Midnightleaf meowed, shaking her head. "But there is a myth that says a long time again, the monsters strayed from their path and they distorted the forest and all the cats had to leave. They scattered i guess. But it's not true, so no need to worry."

Snowpaw couldn't believe it. Monster wrecking everything. It sounded terrifying. Thank goodness it was only a myth. "So, where are we going to go next?" She asked.

"Fourtrees!" Midnightleaf dashed off toward the meeting place.
