Okay, I LOVE writing contests, and writing in general, so I've decided to put all of my work here, in this thread! Okay, Here goes:

Short Stories...
1. Never Going Back (not my best :P)
I ran, as fast as my legs would take me, only stopping for a moment's worth of breath. I couldn't go back home, I wouldn't. I'd be killed if I did. My dad sacrificed himself, so that I could leave. My mom was already dead. I was only six then, and I was terrified. Perhaps even that wouldn't describe my fear.
They had come for us in the night. They said to hand me over. But my parents wouldn't allow it. They had our house surrounded, and they were armed with swords. We didn't understand what they wanted, and they wouldn't tell. They went straight in and began their search. I was going to hide, but my mother made me go. They chased me. I soon came by a friend's house, and hid there. They ran straight past.
I stayed with my friend for a while, but the feeling they were still looking for me scared me. I could barely fall asleep. When I did, all I had were nightmares. It was unbearable. Then soon my worst fears came true. They found out where I was. I once again had to run, leaving my friend behind. They murdered her.
I'm still on the run, hiding where I can. I left the forest that I had once called home. I'm far from there now. I know they are still looking, but what I don't know is why. I'm not special, and I never did anything wrong. My old home will always remain in my heart, as well as the memories that blossomed there. But I know, that I can't go back. I never will.

1. New Year's Resolutions
For this year's resolutions,
from which I will not stray,
I have decided to follow them,
each and everyday.
I'll be nicer to by friends,
and stop twisting the ends,
of each and every assignment,
that I try to bend.
I'll stop teasing my sister,
which she'll be glad to hear,
and I'll grin more,
from ear to ear.
I'll spend less time on a screen,
(though I won't keep that for long),
and maybe, just maybe,
I'll try to write a song.
So those are my resolutions,
I'll try to follow each,
but if I don't,
remind me of this speech.
And more tomorrow...
