The Song of the Willow Tree

Whoosh, whoosh, I hear the wind go through the big willow tree in our back yard. The Willow’s name is Song. She will sing all day long, that is why we call her Willow Song. We meaning, me “Leafpool”, Sunsplash, and Harmonyflame.
“So, when will you stop narrating your life little sis?” Sunsplash asked. “Simple….. She won’t!” Harmonyflame snickered. “Oh, come on!” Leafpool said. “I don’t do it all the time….I mean I don’t…… oh fine I do! Happy I said I do!”
“Let’s go in for lunch ok?” Sunsplash said. “Ok, it would be nice,” I said. So we all went inside and had P.B. and J.
“That was good!” Harmonyflame said. “It sure was,” I said. After that I went outside to the Willow tree. “Come take shade under me,”
Said the Willow tree named Song. “Just like a bird, just like a song I sing to the willow tree named Song!” I sing
“Just like a bird, just like a song I sing to Leafpool my friend!” the Willow tree named Song will sing. “We sing just like a bird, we sing a song; we sing the words the hold us together and we will be there for each other. This song is what we sing every day because it is what keeps us happy even in the hardest times.
One day Leafpool did not come . The willow tree did not know where she was and so she waited, waited, and waited. But Leafpool did not come. “Leafpool, Leafpool!” the willow tree named song called and called. But she still did not come. Then one day the two sisters came to tell the willow tree named song the news that their sister was dead . The willow tree cried and cried. To this very day the willow tree still weeps but she does not go by Song she goes by Weeping willow for she is all ways weeping.
