  • The ocelot like, gray, she-cat took tedious steps outside of the leader's den, her eyes wide with shock, and paws still shaky. Finally, She thought. After all those horrible years of being a fighter cat back at the city, I'm now free. A free clan cat of ThunderClan. She held her head high and announced as she exited,

"No longer shall I be known as Lady Fang!" The she-cat let out a loud mrowr while flipping her tail. "But as Moonfang, loyal cat of Thunderclan!"

  • Five-moon-old Pebblekit poked her head out of the nursery, temporarily unnoticed by her mother. A loud meow reached her ears, and the small brown kit watched Moonfang as she declared her new name.

OOC: Could Pebblekit become Moonfang's apprentice?

  • Nightgaze looked over her shoulder from where she sat, shoulders hunched, eating a piece of prey, and huffed, turning back to her sparrow. Softfeather, a playful, rambunctious she-cat with cream fur and a dark brown tail, looked back and forth between the two of them.
"Have you two...met?" She asked Nightgaze.
Nightgaze nodded, just slightly. Her ears flicked.

  • Pebblekit scampered out of the nursery. The kit padded up to Nightgaze, almost as small as the sparrow, and squeaked, "Who's that?" She looked over her shoulder at Moonfang.

  • OCC: If Pebblekit would like to, I wouldn't mind that at all :D

"Yes," Moonfang responded with a slight scowl. "Indeed, we have met." She peered down at Pebblekit and smiled. "Well, hello little one."

  • "Hi!" squeaked Pebblekit. "Who are you?" She looked up at Moonfang, who towered over her due to her under-average size.

  • (I'm gonna need to repost that last thing. I deleted it by accident.)

Nightgaze suddenly felt incredibly awkward. She nearly never spoke and it took kits a while to figure it out.

"Um." Softfeather cleared her throat. "She doesn't talk much. Why don't you ask her yourself, though?" She purred to the little kit. "But, before you do, I need to ask her a question, okay?" She took Moonfang off to the side for a moment. "I have a question for you, and I want you to give an honest answer."

  • Moonfang gave Pebblekit another warm smile. "My name's Moonfang, dearie." At Softfeather's request, she dipped her head at Pebblekit and followed Softfeather to the side.

    "Go ahead." Moonfang said.

  • "What happened when you and Nightgaze met?" Softfeather looked her straight in the face, suddenly serious.

  • "Erm," Moonfang returned the serious look, with a slight twinge of confusion. "She wanted to tussle a bit, I suppose, but I refused, stating that I merely was here to join Thunderclan." She peeked around Softfeather at Pebblekit. "In fact, I think I've found another calling here as well. Would you excuse me?" Moonfang steped around Softfeather hastily and knelt down by Pebblekit.

"Where's your mummy?" Moonfang asked the kit.

  • Pebblekit shifted on her paws. "In the nursery," she meowed, looking away.

  • "Ahh." Moonfang sensed she was making the kit uncomfortable and turned away, examining the land around. "ThunderClan territory certainly is marvelous."

  • Softfeather shook her head. Her friend was so misunderstood. She wanted to explain to Moonfang her friend's behavior; she tried walking over to her.

  • "Yeah! It's the best!" mewed Pebblekit, with the pride of one who has been born and raised being told that her Clan was the best.

  • "What's so important, Softfeather?" Moonfang asked, noticing her approach out of the corner of her eye. "Was it something I said? Should I apologize? I don't want to be on the wrong foot with a clan member already, okay."

  • "No, no! It's not that- it's just-" She let out a sigh. "She doesn't speak. She can, she just thinks she's gonna say something wrong. She means well, she really does, and she doesn't know how to amend. Just- please - cut her a little slack." She gave her a pleading look, "She has suffered a lot. You can see it in her face when she gets lost in her thoughts."

  • "Well, at least we have something in common." Moonfang's face was severe as she said it, but her eyes were understanding. "I'll try to speak with her."

  • She let out a purr, "You can try! Just remember, she talks with eyes, ears, and tail." She smiled then turned towards the entrance of camp.

  • "... Miss Night?" Moonfang said as she approached the black she-cat from behind with her head down and ears perked forward.
