    Nightgaze, a black she-cat with dark blue eyes, flicked her tail at Softfeather, her best friend, and nodded towards the entrance to camp.
    "Alright. I know, we need to hunt. Would it kill ya to say something sometime?" Softfeather complained as she stretched, straining each long, dark brown limb. She waved her fluffy tail, also a dark brown, then said, "Let me get a poppy seed first, my paws are killing me!" Then she left, leaving Nightgaze alone.

    Nightgaze looked around, then began washing her injured paw, which had been bitten by a non-venomous snake. The toes were splayed permanently.
